The port is located almost halfway between ARA ports and Black Sea ports, as a link between northbound and southbound shipping. We have 3 berths to receive incoming vessels, of which berth 5 is also suitable for unloading goods.
The port of Adony forwards goods in two main directions.
Towards the ARA (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp) ports and Western European waterways.
Towards Constanza, Lower Danube and Black Sea ports, i.e. in the downstream direction.
Road vehicles enter the parking lot of the warehouse base from Main Road 6. After checking the data of the goods and recording them electronically, the goods are sampled. Then, after weighing, the truck moves to the appropriate berth. After unloading, the goods are conveyed to the ship via a conveyor system or, in the case of temporary storage, to the respective warehouses.
After uncoupling the trains arriving at the port, the wagons are towed to the unloading place in the appropriate order. At the unloading place, the goods are discharged from the wagon in a controlled manner into a hopper, from where a conveyor system loads the goods into the river vessel.
After qualitative sampling and acceptance of the goods arriving by river vessel, the unloading of the goods begins. The goods are unloaded from the vessel by an excavator and loaded onto a road vehicle, which, after weighing, leaves the site. If the goods are not transported directly from the site by road, it is transported to a warehouse to ensure that the vessel is emptied continuously.
The operation is similar to the vessel-to-truck process, except that after weighing, the incoming goods are discharged with a so-called drop wagon placed on the conveyor belt into a rail hopper, from where the goods are transferred to the wagon.
